![]() Carol Burton loves NUTRI-RICE® on her cereal in the morning. Judi Woodman uses Nutri-Select-Natural as a topping for her casseroles. Sprinkle NUTRI-RICE® on cereals, salads, desserts or mix with yogurt, cottage cheese, gravies or your favorite beverage. NUTRI-RICE® is also great in baked goods such as pancake and waffle mix, breads, cookies, crackers, muffins and pastries. When stabilized rice bran is added to rice it not only adds flavor but naturally replaces the nutrition nature intended. Here are a few recipes we suggest:
Banana-Rice Smoothie 3 large ripe bananas Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into tall glasses. Lightly dust with nutmeg and serve immediately. .
NUTRI-RICE® Banana Bread 3 large ripe bananas Preheat oven 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x5 loaf pan. In a large bowl, mash bananas to make 1 cup. Beat in sugar, then egg and margarine. In another bowl, stir together the flour, NUTRI-RICE®, salt and baking soda. Add to banana mixture and stir just until all the dry ingredients until moistened. Pour batter into pregreased pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes. Insert wooden toothpick into center of loaf - it should come out clean when done.
NUTRI-RICE® Molasses Oatmeal Bread (2 loaves) 2 packages instant dry yeast Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water (110-115 degrees F); set aside. In a large bowl, place 2 cups oatmeal, 2 tablespoons shortening; pour in boiling water; stir. Cool to lukewarm, about 10 minutes. Stir in dissolved yeast molasses and salt. By hand, stir in half the flour and NUTRI-RICE®; then gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make a firm dough. Knead on floured surface 5 to 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 hour. Punch dough down. Divide into 2 parts. On lightly floured surface, roll each half into a 14 in. x 7 in. rectangle. Starting with the shorter side, roll up tightly, pressing dough into a roll with each turn. Pinch edges and ends to seal. Place in greased 9x5 inch bread pans, or mold into round loaves, and place on a greased cookie sheet, let rise in a warm place until double, about 1 hour. Combine egg white and 1 tablespoon of water; brush tops of loaves. Sprinkle with 2 or 3 tablespoons oatmeal. Bake at 400 degrees F for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven and pans then cool on a rack. What's Your Pleasure?
